Michael Vick Gets The First Endorsement Of His Comeback–Its Local and I Love It

Michael Vick has gotten his first endorsement since returning to the league. It’s for Woodbury Nissan in New Jersey. The concept of the commercial is great…basically Vick is a new employee full of ideas. But all his coworkers and bosses want are autographs and pictures which they, in some cases, trick him in order to get. You can see clips from the commercials below.

According to USAToday, Vick was not paid for the endorsement HOWEVER he was given (or at least given use of) a car.

Vick is not getting paid but he does get the free use of a customized Nissan Armada worth $54,000. Vick was dumped by corporate sponsors such as Nike after he was charged with dog-fighting. A local car dealership isn’t the Swoosh. But it’s a start. If Vick leads the Eagles to the Super Bowl, he could end up being the comeback story of the year on Madison Avenue as well as in the NFL.

I’m assuming the reason he wasn’t paid is because the more money he makes, the more goes to his debtors. And Vick has some limits on how much he can spend, regardless of how much money he makes. Check out this post on Vick’s finances from the lovely lady behind the blog Jocks and Stiletto Jill. I was a little taken aback by it.

Updated: As I was pressing “publish” on this post, Vick was giving his fiance a brand new Porsche. Huh? This is a public relations fail. So were his recent comments that he’d like to own a dog some day.

When I think about Vick, I think of the clip below of Tyra Banks yelling at one of the girls on America’s Next Top Model (it’s at the 1:50 mark) “I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!!”
