There I was minding my own business on facebook (well, not really) when I saw this photo Deron Williams posted of Team USA Basketball 2012. We all know that Kevin Durant is AT LEAST 6’10 or 6’11. But is he taller than a 7’1 Tyson Chandler? Is Tyson leaning? Is Kevin’s hat really tall? Is Kevin wearing stilettos? *rubs eyes* I swear Kevin looks taller than Tyson.

[Update: My followers on twitter believe Tyson is leaning and has his legs open wider than Kevin's. Listen...they are comparable heights. That's all I can say I guess.]
Let’s start off with the best part…the Jaguars new locker room (courtesy of its new owner Shad Kahn) is SWANK AS HELL! I mean truly amazing. Kahn really has some good taste. Let’s get into it.
The main area has a big Jaguars logo on the ceiling. There are also lots of leather chairs. If you’ve ever been to the strip club King of Diamonds in Miami this design will look familiar to you.
Rookie and Washington Redskin’s QB Robert Griffin III is already off to a fast start in the marketing department (just as Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton was last year). His new gatorade commercial has been released and you can watch it below.
First thing I thought of was all the people who said RGIII needs to cut his braids to establish an image. For style purposes, maybe. But for endorsement/public image purposes? No way. He is a marketer’s dream and there’s very little he can do to change that besides get injured or truly play like trash. Let’s all remember, in Michael Vick’s Atlanta Falcon days he signed a zillion endorsements with raggedy corn rows in his hair — a style that never fit his face and was considered “thuggish” by mainstream crowds [See: Iverson, Allen].

Buffalo Bills LB Shawne Merriman has had a pretty rough injury history. In 2007, Merriman tore his PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) and his LCL (lateral collateral ligament). Since at least 2008 he’s had on and off painful knee trouble. He’s also suffered a foot injury and last year he had a procedure done on his achilles that ended his season. Every one of these ailments is career-threatening and some people have already given up on Merriman being productive in the league.
I was surprised that the Bills picked him up with the expectation he could and would start, but I’m glad he got another chance. This season will be critical for Merriman because a second season ending injury would likely put his career out of commission. Still, Merriman seems determined and optimistic. He recently released a video where he talks about his come back from injury and his hopes for the new season. He says he feels the best he has in three years.
